LICENSING
According to the California State Licensing Board, anyone who contracts to perform work on a project that is valued at $500 or more for combined labor and materials costs must hold a current, valid license from CSLB. You can verify the license or call (800) 321-CSLB (2752).
It is important to note that an unlicensed contractor can pose a significant risk to your finances. If a hired contractor does not have a license and damages your property and/or is injured - you are financially responsible! Also, the quality of work of an unlicensed individual usually leaves much to be desired. Don't take the chance - hire a licensed contractor, such as MT&L!

- Licensed Timber Operator (LTO) # A11449
WHO ARE LICENSED TIMBER OPERATORS?
Licensed Timber Operators or "LTOs" are persons who have been licensed under the Forest Practice Act law and are authorized to conduct forest tree cutting and removal operations. LTOs must understand and comply with all laws relating to tree cutting or removal.
WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF LICENSES?
Licensed Timber Operators have three different types of licenses depending on the kind of timber operations they are authorized to conduct. Licenses which begin with the letter "A" authorize the licensee to conduct any type of operations. Those licenses which begin with the letter "B" restrict the licensee to only the removal of minor forest products such as firewood and Christmas trees. And, licenses which begin with the letter "C" restrict the licensee to only conduct timber operations on their own property only. As you can see, we hold an "A" license.

Qualified Line-Clearance Arborists (such as our crew) have had intensive training to provide them with additional knowledge about electrical hazards and special techniques used to work safely near electrical conductors. This certification also qualifies us to work near any utility line (such as phone lines).
